On Back-to-Back Mini Sessions

MEERMANS PHOTOGRAPHY ON ASSEMBLY LINE MINI SESSIONS:

The photography industry often schedules mini sessions back-to-back on specific days — think Valentine’s Day, for example. A photographer might choose to offer ten consecutive sessions in an outdoor setting on a Saturday near or on February 14th.

We prefer not to run an assembly-line style photography day unless it’s in a controlled studio environment with professional lighting. That choice comes from wanting our clients to enjoy the most natural, relaxed experience while being photographed. From experience we’ve learned clients are happiest when the light is soft, avoiding the harsh, bright heat of a mid-summer sun shining directly into their eyes. If we ran a marathon of ten mini sessions outdoors, some clients would inevitably be photographed in less-than-ideal light.

Yes, we can and have produced excellent work under all lighting conditions, but we consistently find the earliest or latest time slots yield the best results and the most flattering, comfortable images for our clients.
